Meet Mary Vazquez
How long have you worked at Gyre9, and what does your job entail?
I’ve been with Gyre9 for 4 years and 9 months. I started in mechanical assembly, learning how our products come together and gaining practical hands-on experience. From there, I moved into quality control, which allowed me to focus on detail and precision and ensure everything we produced met the highest standards. After that, I took on a Team Lead role, where I could guide and support others while keeping projects on track. Now, I’m a Production Supervisor, meaning I oversee the entire production floor—coordinating schedules, managing workflow, and making sure our team stays efficient and motivated. Each step has given me a deeper understanding of both the technical and leadership sides of production, and I enjoy seeing projects go from concept to completion.

What do you like to do when you aren't working?
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time at church. It's a place where I can find peace, reflect, and connect with my faith. I also enjoy being around a community that shares similar values, and it helps me recharge mentally and spiritually. It's always a grounding experience for me. I also love being with my husband and family, whether sharing a meal, having conversations, or relaxing together. And at home, I enjoy the company of my cat and dog — they always bring joy and fun to my day.

One lesson about your field you learned at Gyre9?
One of the most impactful lessons I’ve learned at Gyre9 is that everyone deserves a second chance. Whether with clients, team members, or even personal mistakes, giving people room to grow and learn from their experiences has been invaluable. It's a perspective that fosters a positive, collaborative environment where people feel safe to take risks and innovate without fear of failure.

One lesson you learned at Gyre9?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned at Gyre9 is to trust myself and have faith in what I can do. When I started, I wasn’t sure how far I could grow, but moving from an assembly position to now a supervisor role has shown me that I’m capable of more than I thought. Each new role pushed me to step up, make decisions, and believe in my abilities. That experience taught me that confidence doesn’t come all at once — it grows when you take challenges head-on and learn to trust yourself.
